Introductory Course on the Mandala Method
We will be introduced to the 5 Wisdom Dakini’s, as Lama Tsultrim explains in her book WISDOM RISING: “The Sanskrit word DAKINI in Tibetan becomes KHANDRO, which means “SKY DANCER”, literally “she who moves through space. The Dakini is the most important manisfestation of the feminine in Tibetan Buddhis Teaching”
In this introductory course we will explore each of the 5 elements found In the four directions and the center of the mandala through meditation, movement, journaling and art.
This is not therapy, this is simple exploration of the possibilities that exist within each of us.
Each session will be held at the Hillside Urban Sanctuary in El Cerrito on Tuesday nights from 7PM to 9PM from March 17th through April 21st.
Christine Rossi is a Certified Facilitator in the Mandala Method who will be leading each practice.
The schedule is designed to lead participants through each of the Elements each week, finishing with a completion of the entire Mandala by the 6th session.
No experience with Meditation or Buddhism is necessary as this method is designed to work independently from any traditional mindfulness or prayer practice.
To promote community and personal interaction, this is an in-person class only. There will be no recordings or streaming available. For more information you can email us at
The Mandala Method courses and retreats offer an exploration into the ancient Tibetan Buddhist template of the mandala as it applies to our inner path of transformation and our outer experience in the world. In her book, Wisdom Rising: Journey into the Mandala of the Empowered Feminine (Atria, 2018), Lama Tsultrim Allione offers mandala practices she has long taught in an accessible form suitable for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.
The Mandala Method program is a deeper dive into these practices, along with additional practices to empower personal and spiritual transformation.
Each level offers a contemporary application of mandala principles, transforming encumbered emotional patterns, such as ignorance, anger, and craving, into wisdom through meditation, sound, art, movement, and practice with the five elements.
The foundation for this work is the five buddha families, which represent five styles of emotional suffering that transform into five manifestations of enlightened energy. This is an experiential program exploring the divine feminine, masculine, and union of both feminine and masculine aspects of our psyche.
